St. Paul's is a church with a hundred years of history that was later destroyed by a fire, leaving only a façade. It integrates the essence of Eastern and Western architectural art and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. It is one of the landmark buildings in Macau. Almost everyone who comes to Macau will visit here, so it is usually very crowded. To avoid the crowds, you should either come early in the morning or in the evening. We arrived before 8 am when there were not many people. After taking photos, the place was swarmed with tour groups wearing little red and yellow hats, and it was no longer a good time for photos. From St. Paul's, navigate to Yee Van Alley, which is about a 1.3 km walk. Macau is full of slopes, which can be quite exhausting to walk. Yee Van Alley was once where the wealthy people of Macau lived, in a villa area. The pink houses contrast sharply with the blue sea, making for great photos. Walking down the slope of Yee Van Alley leads to Republic Avenue, right by the sea. The sea breeze is very comfortable.
