Macau: Magic of the East 

Hey Globetrotters, pack your bags and set your sights on Macau - the Las Vegas of the East! This vibrant city is a dazzling cocktail of culture, cuisine, and casinos, with an exciting slice of adventure on the side. Here’s my round-up of the top 10 must-do things and the top 5 must-visit spots in this incredible city. 1. Cruise to Hong Kong or Zhuhai: Nothing quite beats the mesmerizing views from a high-speed ferry, cutting through the cool sea breeze between Macau and Hong Kong or Zhuhai. It's an exhilarating ride that's as unforgettable as it is beautiful. You can easily book a ticket at the ferry station, try not to book a return ticket but instead book one way then another when returning. The last ferry leaves HK at 10.30 pm. NB There are free shuttle buses at Venetian, Londoner, and Parisian to pick up and drop you off. 2. Stroll through The Parisian: This place had me saying ‘ooh la la’ at every turn. I felt like I was right in the heart of Paris. Don't miss out on the half-scale Eiffel Tower replica; it offers an unmatched panoramic view of the city. You can buy a ticket to go to the top floor of the Eiffel Tower 3. Wynn's Palace and its Free Cable Car: Ride the free cable car to this opulent palace. And here's a pro-tip for you: skip the long queue at the road entrance by heading up through the hotel - the line moves faster there. You'll enjoy the view especially at night 4. Explore The Venetian and Ride the Gondola: This luxurious resort is a slice of Venice in Macau. The highlight of my visit was the charming gondola ride through the canals, complete with a serenading gondolier! 5. Dine at the Venetian Macau's Food Courts: Food lovers rejoice! The array of eateries here took my taste buds on a culinary world tour. The flavors are as diverse as they are delicious. 6. Visit the Londoner: Experience the charm of London with a Macau twist. It’s a spectacular fusion of two distinct cultures, with traditional British architecture and a lively atmosphere. 7. Nightlife in Macau: When the sun sets, Macau really comes alive. My night was filled with neon lights, energetic music, and captivating performances. This is the time to truly embrace the 'Vegas of the East' vibes. 8. Head to Macau Tower: For the adrenaline junkies, this is a must. Head up on a clear day, preferably in the afternoon to see the sunset, for an unforgettable 360-degree view of the city. Bungee jumping from the tower was one of my trip’s highlights! 9. Enjoy Macau's Cultural Side: Take a break from the glamour and discover Macau's rich cultural tapestry. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and explore the city's history. 10. Shop ‘til You Drop: From high-end designer stores to bustling markets, Macau is a shopper's paradise. I found the perfect souvenirs and even a few special pieces to remember my journey. However, take note that Macau is quite expensive so just be prepared. There you have it!
