Macau | "Fengxintang" St. Lawrence Church

The Church of St. Lawrence, Igreja de São Lourenço, established in the mid-16th century, is one of the three oldest churches in Macau. The academic view is that the church was built before 1569, underwent multiple reconstructions, and its current scale was formed in 1846. Chinese people call it "Fengxintang", and it is also known as "Fengshuntang" in Cantonese due to its homophonic sound. It carries the meaning of praying for "favorable wind and rain". It is now a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Centre of Macao. On the front facade of the building, the left wing is a clock and the right wing is a bell tower. In the center of the hall, there is a statue of St. Lorenzo on the main altar.
