Henan— “The Mother of China”❤️

Living in Shanghai makes you lose touch with the real China. Truth is, many provinces in China are not yet as developed. Henan is such a province-many people still struggle with poverty and arriving there, it felt like I had gone back in time. However, Henan a place with immense historical significance. Henan is often referred to as "The mother of China" because historians say that Chinese civilization originated in this region. During our stay, we visited The Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese cave carvings from the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties. We also visited Shaolin temple, often known as the birthplace of martial arts and Zen Buddhism, and watched masters of kungfu practice their craft.
