Travel to Luang Prabang, Laos | Day 3 🇱🇦

Today is the last day of our trip! We're returning to our original route, taking the train from Luang Prabang to Vientiane, then returning from the Vientiane border to Nong Khai. This route is economical and convenient for us (after considering the pros and cons of other modes of transportation). We started the day early, as we didn't have much time before returning our rented motorbike, so we headed out for a foodie spree. 🍽️ We started at Khao Soi & Pho, opposite Wat Saensukharam. This place is a must-visit for its local feel. The broth is cooked over a charcoal stove, fragrant, delicious, and cheap. 👍 After a savory meal, what better way to start than a little dessert before heading back home? Le Banneton, their croissants are amazing! I've been following the reviews for them, and they're incredibly cheap, delicious, and have excellent dough. The drinks are also great. The place has a lot of international customers, plenty of seating, and a view of the temples and cars passing by. It's a great way to relax and soak up the Luang Prabang vibe before heading back. After dinner and dessert, we returned our rented motorbike to the restaurant next to our accommodation. So, we didn't have to walk far. After that, we packed up, checked out of our accommodation, and waited for the van at the entrance of the alley. It was the same van we had on our way there. It took us from Luang Prabang to Luang Prabang Railway Station. I recommend asking for the driver's contact number when you arrived from the train station. If you didn't get the driver's contact number, you can contact the ticket booth on the corner of the street. They offer shuttle services from the airport, train station, and even for excursions outside the city, like waterfalls. Then, you can arrange with the driver where you'll be picked up, what time, and what time the train departs. I recommend allowing extra time, as it takes about 30 minutes from the city center to the train station. Once you arrive at the train station, scan your ticket, scan your baggage, and do the same things as on your way there. Then, we arrived in Vientiane. Then, we took a bus from the Lao-China Vientiane Railway Station to the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge border crossing. Alternatively, if you're going into the city, there are city buses, chartered vehicles, or rickshaws. It's all available, depending on your preference. But since we wanted to save money, we definitely took the bus! 🤣 It's convenient, has a clear schedule, is cheap, and has air conditioning! 🤣 The bus will stop at the Lao border crossing, and we'll go through Lao immigration. Then, buy a bus ticket to cross the border to the Thai border checkpoint (the bus ticket should be around 35 baht). Once there, queue for Thai immigration and everything else. If there are a lot of people, you can just transfer to the automated counter. It's super convenient. Finally, we're in Nong Khai! Ending our trip in Nong Khai and at Daeng Naem Nueng. When in Nong Khai, you have to eat Naem Nueng! 🤣 #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck #TravelLaos #laos #luangprabang #LuangPrabang #VisitLuangPrabang
