Laos ~ Wat Xieng Thong

Wat Xieng Thong means 'House of the King', and it is the most beautiful temple in Laos, nestled under the bougainvillea trees. Describing Wat Xieng Thong as 'resplendent in gold and jade' is not an exaggeration. The temple's doors and lintels are intricately carved with detailed patterns, creating a striking and bold contrast with the black temple walls. The exterior columns of the temple are also adorned with golden designs.
