This place used to be the mansion of the Laotian kingdom's general, a cover for the CIA intelligence center during the war, and now Mybanlao, with a tree-lined path in front of the room and a direct entrance to the swimming pool from the back door. Living here is like living in a painting, and seeing the beautiful hotel every day puts me in a good mood. 1 About transportation A thumbs up must be given to the hotel's 'vintage car' service. Just scan the QR code, add the hotel WhatsApp, and they will pick you up immediately upon request. During the day, they can take you to restaurants, cafes, attractions in the city center, and at night, they provide a concentrated drop-off to the night market. The hotel also offers airport/high-speed train station transfer services. On the day of arrival, I went to the hotel on my own because I forgot to contact the hotel in advance and it was actually very cheap. When leaving, I informed the front desk one day in advance to arrange a transfer to the high-speed train station at the agreed time. 2 About almsgiving Almsgiving starts at 5:30, with a gathering in the hotel lobby at 5:20. The vintage car will take you to the designated spot, and if you want to change locations, you can walk there after arrival. The props for almsgiving can be bought on the roadside after getting off the car. If you stay at Avani+, the hotel will prepare the supplies for you, and the almsgiving spot is right at the hotel entrance. And Avani+ is conveniently located at the entrance of the night market. However, for the beautiful blue and white pool view room, I still chose Mybanlao. 3 About activities Upon arrival at the hotel, you can check the notice board in the lobby, which is full of various activities, such as cooking classes, sunset cruises, pottery classes, tie-dye experiences, etc., all bookable by scanning a code. There is a super beautiful sunset cruise that lasts 2 hours and includes a meal (mainly because the boat is too beautiful). Scan the code in the last picture to book, or you might end up with only the uncovered top deck seats (exposed to the sun). The hotel can also help with bookings. 4 About the room I booked a poolside room on the ground floor, and the back door opens right onto the swimming pool. In the winter, Luang Prabang is around 22 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, which is still suitable for swimming (although the water is a bit cold, decide for yourself based on how strong you feel. I forgot to bring a swimsuit, so I didn't go swimming, alas). 5 About Spa and Laos massage There is a price list and QR code in the room. Scan to book a Laos massage. 15 USD for 60 minutes, which is about 2-3 times the price outside, and they start with a scrub on your feet.
