Westminister Abbey

Commonly known as the place where most important Royal weddings, and burials, and coronation, Westminister Abbey is an Anglican Cathedral built in by King Henry III. 16 Royal weddings happened here since 1100, the last of which is that of Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Abbey is designed mainly in the style of Gothic architecture. Among the prominent features of the Abbey are Flying buttresses, ribbed vaulted ceilings, pointed arches, and rose windows-- all characteristic of the Gothic style. Visit to the Abbey requires tickets. This means that you will need to buy a ticket to take a tour of the building which will take you to an informative guided tour around the Abbey.
