Exploring Fulham Palace

Fulham Palace is remarkably accessible, located just a short five-minute walk from Putney Bridge station. The walled garden was a striking feature for me—it seemed to shimmer like gold. With the flowers still flourishing, I captured numerous images of colorful dahlias. The palace lawn was green, and the place had scarcely any visitors. Historically, Fulham Palace has been the residence for the Bishops of London since 704 AD, serving as a summer refuge and hosting esteemed guests, including a grand banquet attended by Queen Elizabeth I in 1601. While the rooms are mostly bare, the Grand Hall boasts exquisite wooden paneling and carvings. The Library lacks interest, and the Bishop Rooms are entirely vacant. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit on such a splendid day. Both Fulham Palace and its gardens are open for free to the public.
