Oriental Gourmet (Islington) 📍123A Holloway Rd, London N7 8LT Met up with friends at Oriental Gourmet last week, and it was the brilliant restaurant! ▪️Northeast Dumpling Soup I’ve heard that every dumpling soup has its unique twist, and this one featured super chewy dumplings with some leafy greens for a nice touch. I had three bowls, and there was still plenty left—huge portion! ▫️Minced Meat with Eggplant The minced meat was incredibly flavorful, and the eggplant was juicy and tender. Mixed with rice, it made for an amazing combination. ▪️Spicy Chicken This dish came in a massive portion, packed with fragrance and deliciously cooked chicken. ▫️Twice-Cooked Pork Rich but not greasy, the pork had a salty and slightly spicy kick with a hint of chili fragrance—absolutely delightful! ▪️Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Balls The addition of diced onions was super aromatic. You can choose between shelled or unshelled shrimp—we went with shelled, and it was perfectly seasoned. Salted egg yolk as a topping is unbeatable! #eatlikealocal #london
