A canal network floating in the sky!

This awesome aqueduct & canal site, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, is one of only four world heritage sites in Wales and it’s cheap and accessible for all members of the family! Located in the Trevor Basin, this feat of engineering is just a 10 minute drive from the beautiful village of Llangollen and is about an hour away from the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Built by Thomas Telford in 1805, this bridge forms the highest canal aqueduct in the world, standing at a dizzy height of 38 metres tall. For the brave, you can walk along the towpath and admire the views in this area of natural beauty. You can also hire a kayak or a barge and enjoy this unique waterway. The best thing about this area? All of it is free to enjoy!
