Tour routes • Cultural Heritage Route: Enter through the South Gate → Liu Zongyuan Statue → Liu Hou Shrine (about 30 minutes) → Stele Gallery (about 15 minutes) → Liu Zongyuan’s Tomb → Luo Pond Fish Viewing (about 20 minutes), for an in-depth understanding of Liu Zongyuan’s culture and historical relics. • Natural Scenery Route: Enter through the East Gate → Mountain Waterfall → Artificial Lake → Nine-Bend Bridge → Ganxiang Pavilion (about 20 minutes) → Xishuang Pavilion, enjoy the lake and mountain views and garden landscapes. • Family Fun Route: Enter through the North Gate → Playground (experience pirate ship, deluxe carousel, etc.) → Loving Mommy’s Cottage → Chinese Garden Bonsai Exhibition Area (about 40 minutes), ideal for visiting with children. Attractions • Liu Hou Shrine: The soul of the park, originally named Luo Pond Temple, built in the second year of the Tang Changqing era. The shrine displays Liu Zongyuan’s writings and relics, as well as over 40 steles including the national first-class cultural relics “Litchi Stele” and “Longcheng Stone Carvings.” • Luo Pond: Once a clear pool outside the ancient city of Liuzhou, it was Liu Zongyuan’s favorite place for reading, poetry, and socializing. It is also the site of one of Liuzhou’s Eight Ancient Sceneries, “Luo Pond Moonlight.” • Chinese Garden: Located in the northeast corner of the park, designed in Lingnan garden courtyard style, featuring unique stones, artificial mountains and waterfalls, small bridges, and flowing water, full of Jiangnan water town charm. • Ganxiang Pavilion: Inspired by the poetic imagery of Liu Zongyuan’s works, it harmonizes with the surrounding green trees and lake, making it a great spot for photos. Food Recommendations • Snail Rice Noodles at the North Gate: Try “Apo Snail Rice Noodles,” 8 RMB per bowl, with a strong sour bamboo shoot flavor, also available with fried egg, duck feet, and more. • Sweet Soup Stall at the East Gate: Sample locust flower jelly for 3 RMB per bowl and taro cake for 5 RMB, experiencing the local Liuzhou street food vibe. Notes • The park has many stone slab paths and moss; comfortable sports shoes or canvas shoes are recommended. • When viewing the steles inside Liu Hou Shrine, do not use flash photography to avoid damaging the cultural relics.
