A Day in Portugal: From Belém's History to Cabo da Roca's Winds

A day in Lisbon began with a visit to the Jerónimos Monastery. Its grand exterior and the intricate Manueline-style arches were works of art in themselves. Inside the monastery, even the light seemed serene, and standing before Vasco da Gama's tomb, I could feel the spirit of Portuguese exploration. After touring the monastery, I grabbed a Pastel de Belém, a must-try in Belém, and strolled along the banks of the Tagus River. One bite of the warm, sweet egg tart was enough to recharge my energy. Taking a train to Cascais and then hopping on the 403 bus, I traveled along the cliffside road to reach **Cabo da Roca**. The wind was so strong it almost blew my hat away, but even the wind felt like part of the scenery here. "Where the land ends and the sea begins." Standing before the stone engraved with this phrase, I was overcome with a sense of reverence. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, my heart felt unexpectedly calm. This route, capturing both history and nature in a single day, is the best way to experience Portugal.
