The famous Zhaoxing Dong Village.

Zhaoxing Dong Village is located in Liping County, Guizhou Province. It is the largest Dong ethnic village in China and has been named one of the six most beautiful rural towns in China. We drove from Shibing in the morning and checked into the reserved Xiangxiang Guesthouse in Zhaoxing Town at noon. In the afternoon around 3 o'clock, we took a private car arranged by the innkeeper to the observation deck outside Zhaoxing Dong Village, and after overlooking the panoramic view of the village, we walked into the village for sightseeing. On both sides of Zhai Li Street are mostly shops, selling and renting Dong village clothing in addition to local specialties. My little granddaughter also rented a dress, and she looks very beautiful. The most famous landscape in the village is the drum tower group. The village is divided into five groups (five clans) of Ren, Yi, Li, Zhi, and Xin, each with a drum tower. The appearance, height, size, and style of each drum tower are different and spectacular. The first drum tower seen is the Xin group's, right next to the main street, with a better and brighter location than the other drum towers. Then, in order, are the drum towers of Zhi, Yi, Ren, and Li groups. The flower bridge and stilted buildings in the Dong village are other highlights. As night falls, we went to the street to admire the night view of the Dong village, and the drum tower looks even more beautiful at this time. Looking back at the entrance of the scenic area, the Dong village under the lights was stunning. Afterwards, we took a car back to the inn, ending our trip to the Dong village. For lunch that day, we had grilled pork slices at a restaurant we passed by on the Jiangxi Expressway, which was better than the whole roasted pig we had in Bama, Guangxi years ago. For dinner, we tasted the classic sour fish soup in a Dong village, which is a famous dish in Guizhou cuisine and a specialty of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups.
