Martian Canals of Zhangye Danxia

#naturalbeauty The Danxia Mountains, located 30 km from Zhangye City, are one of the most underrated places in China. For some reason, this unique natural phenomenon is ignored by foreign tourists, and the locals are not exactly blazing with popularity. 24 million years ago, in the northwest of what was not yet China, under the influence of rains, winds and the movement of tectonic plates, the most unusual rocks began to form, painted in yellow, red, green and all possible intermediate colors. Nature is an amazing thing, and in 2019 we have this splendor listed in the UNESCO list, and also have the opportunity to look at these rock mountains with our own eyes and try not to fall from the unreal beauty of the Martian landscapes. Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park is located in the eastern foothills of the Qilian Mountains in Gansu Province, China. The geological park has an impressive relief area "danxia", which occupies about 50 square kilometers. The Danxia reliefs are a masterpiece of nature. Colorful mountain ranges are like an inverted palette from the sky. Inside the park, a free bus greets you and takes you to four viewing points, differing only in views: somewhere the landscapes are greener, somewhere more fiery. Each of the locations is a fairly large-scale territory, where you can walk up and down for 40 minutes. In the best Chinese traditions, there are vendors of noodles and fruits everywhere, there are benches everywhere to sit, toilets and smoking areas (taking care of nature in Chinese). 3-4 hours will be more than enough for you to do everything about everything. For fans of extreme sports, paragliding and hot air balloons can be enjoyed in the park. Keep in mind: These activities are only available from 6 to 9:30 a.m. and from 4 to 9 p.m. The feeling was I really travelled to Mars!
