Linfen · A village built on an ancient tomb

There is a village called "Fenshang Village" in Yaodu District, Linfen City, Shanxi Province. Its official name is Jinwangfen Village. It was born with a royal tomb from the Ming Dynasty - the Tomb of King Ding of Jin. According to the "Linfen County Chronicles", the person buried here is Zhu Jihui, the grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang and the eldest son of Prince of Jin Zhu Gang. The entire village was built within the former tomb of King Jin, and the main road of the village was the sacred road that led to the tomb of King Jin in the past. The stone statues on both sides of the main road are still preserved in their original positions, including six types of statues: stone pillars, stone men, stone horses, stone lions, stone sheep and stone tigers. These stone statues were erected in front of the tomb to highlight the status of the tomb owner. There is a temple in the village. The plaque on the gate reads "West Temple". The interior is a regular courtyard. It is a temple rebuilt on the site of a sacrificial hall. Behind the temple is the burial mound of the King of Jin's Tomb. In the current Jinwangfen Village, all the villagers are descendants of the tomb keepers.
