Baoshan Stone City | Yunnan | China

Away from the touristy Lijiang or Dali, Stone City is a village frozen in time. It is built around a rock that is the highest point of the village. Stone city is tucked in a valley and is home to one of the Yunnan minorities. Give yourself enough time a night to explore the village, enjoy the breathtaking views and slow down. You can also spend a night there and even attend the locals’ evening gathering where you can join their traditional dance. The best guest house is at the top of the village with a breathtaking view on whole *city*. Plan around a hundred rmb/night excluding meals but expect basic amenities. That view though, is priceless. A fancier boutique hotel can be found but will not provide you with the same view. If you are staying in Wumu, I recommend the hike and boat ride to Baoshan Stone City. #china #yunnan
