🔷Located on a small island in the Manche department of France, 🇫🇷Mont Saint-Michel, two kilometers from the coast, is a famous French monument and Catholic pilgrimage site. The island is cone-shaped, with a circumference of about 900 meters. It is composed of towering granite and is about 88 meters above sea level. 🔶In 708 AD, Bishop Ober of Yafhunsh ordered the construction of a temple for the Archangel on Mount Dombo. The Archangel Saint Michael is the god of war and has an importance that cannot be underestimated in the religious beliefs of the Middle Ages. According to the Book of Revelation in the New Testament, Saint Michael once defeated the dragon, which symbolized the devil. 🔷From then on, this place became the third largest holy place after Jerusalem and the Vatican. The monastery here was used as a prison until 1863. It was not until 1874 that it was regarded as a historical site and renovated. The project is still in progress. 🔶This place has a long history. After climbing to the top, you will find beautiful natural scenery. The Bay of Saint-Malo where Mont Saint-Michel is located is famous for its rapid tides. The difference in sea level between the highest tide and the lowest tide is as high as 15 meters. Since there are few deep water areas in the bay and the bottom is flat, the sea is 15 to 20 kilometers away from the shore at low tide.
