#summerdestinations I had an amazing time visiting the Archaeological Site of Sounion during my summer vacation! 🏛️ Located about an hour's drive from Athens, this site is home to the Temple of Poseidon, perched on a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. The entrance fee is around €8, which is a small price to pay for such a breathtaking view and a deep dive into ancient history. The temple itself is beautifully preserved, and the panoramic views of the sea from the site are absolutely stunning. It’s an ideal spot to watch the sunset, as the colors over the Aegean are simply magical. 🌅 After exploring the site, I enjoyed a meal at a nearby seaside taverna, savoring fresh seafood while soaking in the views. The surrounding area is also worth exploring, with its charming local shops and beautiful coastal scenery.
