First visit to Kyoto Heian Shrine

The huge Heian Shrine is a relatively new shrine in Kyoto, which is filled with historical shrines and Buddhist temples. Kyoto gradually declined because the political and economic center of Japan moved to Tokyo at that time. One of the purposes of building Heian Shrine was to arouse Kyoto residents' sense of honor for this thousand-year-old capital. The Heian Shrine was specially built to commemorate the symbol of Kyoto's revival. Admission is free, but you are not allowed to take photos inside the buildings.
