Start your Citywalk at Yasaka Pagoda (Hōkan-ji Temple) at 6:00 AM, passing through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, with Kiyomizu-dera as the final destination. The entire route takes 3 hours. Kyoto's ancient stone-paved paths and staggered traditional Japanese wooden houses create perfect photo backdrops at every quiet street corner!! 📷 🗺️ Kyoto Citywalk Route Mizuiro-tei → (🚶6min) Park Hyatt Kyoto → (🚶2min) Niinii San → (🚶2min) Akuya Chaya → (🚶2min) Nishimukai-in → (🚶3min) Akehodono-tei → (🚶8min) Kiyomizu-dera 1️⃣ Yasaka Pagoda, Kyoto's iconic landmark. Navigate to "Mizuiro-tei" for a frontal shot near the fish vine sign. Continue uphill to the pagoda's rear by navigating to "Nishimukai-in." 2️⃣ Walk along the outer wall of Park Hyatt Kyoto up the hillside for a distant view of Yasaka Pagoda—a relatively undiscovered spot with few people, perfect for photos. 3️⃣ Ninenzaka: Navigate to "Niinii San" and stand in the middle of the road to capture the depth and rustic charm of the Japanese streets. 4️⃣ Intersection of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka: Navigate to "Akuya Chaya" for a prime photo spot at the slope's turn. 5️⃣ On the way from Ninenzaka to Sannenzaka, the "Kyo Shirakawa" sign by the roadside is very picturesque. 6️⃣ Sannenzaka: Navigate to "Akehodono-tei" and stroll along the bluestone-paved path lined with quaint old Japanese wooden houses. 7️⃣ Kiyomizu-dera: Stand on the Kiyomizu Stage for a panoramic view of Kyoto, or visit the "Okunoin" observation deck for the iconic Shinchan and Ran photo spot. ⚠️ Note: This route is entirely uphill and quite strenuous, but Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka get crowded early, so the earlier you go, the better the photos. To save energy, consider starting from Kiyomizu-dera and walking the route in reverse.
