Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi For this trip to Kyoto, I planned to stay for ten nights, switching between four hotels as prices fluctuated. Upon arrival, I naturally chose a hotel near Kyoto Station, opting for the chain business hotel Daiwa Roynet located at the Hachijoguchi exit. Daiwa Roynet is a business-oriented hotel brand that emphasizes simplicity and cleanliness. The rooms are well-equipped, even including an ironing board, and charging cables and various outlets are conveniently placed throughout the room. While the hotel doesn't offer many public facilities, the rooms are relatively spacious. The medium-sized double room I booked was about 6 tsubo (approximately 20 square meters), easily accommodating three open suitcases. Although hotel prices in Kyoto have risen due to the Osaka Expo, I was fortunate to book at a time when the price hike wasn't too steep. I stayed for three nights without breakfast for NT$4,707, which averages to just NT$1,569 per night—a great deal! (However, prices have since doubled.) Staying at the back exit has its perks: it's less crowded and noisy. Boarding the subway at the station before Kyoto Station often means getting a seat. Additionally, there are convenience stores and a Don Quijote nearby, and it's less than a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Station. The location is incredibly convenient.
