Jizoin Temple | Bamboo Path, Zen Atmosphere - The Birthplace of Ikkyu Sojun

After finishing our visit to Saihoji Temple at 13:00, we stopped by Jizoin Temple. Jizoin Temple, also known as "Bamboo Temple," was founded in 1367. It is famous for its tranquil environment and beautiful scenery surrounded by bamboo forests. It is also the birthplace of Ikkyu Sojun. As autumn deepens, the maple leaves of Jizoin Temple are like fire, as if they were a painting carefully drawn by nature. The sunlight shines through the treetops, casting mottled shadows on the moss, as if time has stopped here. The autumn breeze gently blows, and the fallen leaves fly, each one seemingly carrying the gentleness of time. Here, you can listen to the melodious sound of the ancient bell, feel the tranquility of Zen, and let your soul be purified in this sea of red leaves. Admission: JPY 500
