JR Kyoto Station Architectural Design

The initial Kyoto Station began in 1887, and the current appearance we see was completed in 1997. It is a building with a contemporary art style. Many tourists visiting Kyoto are surprised by this modern station, which is completely different from the ancient capital. Kyoto Station Building serves as the gateway to the international cultural and tourist city of Kyoto. It integrates the station, hotels, department stores, commercial facilities, cultural facilities, parking lots, and plazas, making it a representative station building in Japan.
