Shinsen-en Moon Viewing Event for Mid-Autumn Festival

Tomorrow, September 17th, is Japan's Mid-Autumn Festival, and there are moon viewing events happening these days. Shinsen-en is hosting a moon viewing event today! Located near the famous Nijo Castle, it's just a ten-minute walk away. The event runs from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and admission is free. For 700 yen, you can enjoy matcha and small sweets with seating, very relaxed. At 6:00 PM, there will be a moon viewing ritual by a monk, and at 7:00 PM, a singing performance will begin. The atmosphere is very harmonious, and the full moon will be out too ☺️. 💫 You can get closer to the performance starting at 7:00 PM, so standing is fine, and you don't necessarily need to buy a seat, though the distance might be a bit far, making it more suitable for listening to the songs. 💫 Arriving at 5:30 PM allows you to see the daytime scenery of the temple garden, with its red bridge and lake, and you can also visit the shrine and buy goshuin (temple stamps). 💫 There are two ducks and a large koi fish near the bridge, and you can buy feed for 100 yen to feed them. Even if it's not a festival, you can still enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shinsen-en. After visiting Nijo Castle, you can take a stroll here!
