🍃 There aren't many people at Sanzen-in, but it feels like it's only Chinese tourists and monks. 🚃 The Eizan Electric Railway is the same, the whole line is filled with Chinese conversations. But it's very green, very beautiful, very relaxing, and my dear Kifune Shrine, really took my breath away. ⛩️ Maybe many years later, I will still remember, after climbing the mountain alone in the rain for forty minutes, seeing the small red torii gate with bright lanterns through the rain and fog, and remembering the fortune I asked for at the main shrine: "Traveling, great benefits from afar" I see, so those two steps I almost took to turn back, she stopped me, and just a turn ahead, I could see the lit, empty path on both sides, it felt like it was congratulating me for persevering to the top. Sanzen-in and Kifune themselves are indeed very small, but the process of walking through the forest to reach the temple and shrine, I think should also be considered part of this journey. If you have the energy, climb all the way up from the Kifune train station, and after seeing the main shrine, don't forget to go up to see the middle shrine and the inner shrine. Although many people say it's not as good as some temples in the city, some scenery and experiences can only be felt in the suburbs where there are more birds and beasts than people. 🚇 Transportation: Take bus 17 to Takaragaike, transfer to the Eizan Electric Railway, walk or take bus 33 to the main shrine, then walk up to the middle shrine and the inner shrine.
