I heard that this shrine worships the pharmacist Buddha, specializing in praying for disease-free and pet peace. The various pets (cats, dogs, birds...) in the shrine are about 700 yen, and there are some cats who do hand-to-hand shirts. There is a pet hospital next door. It seems that the Mao children who come to this hospital will be more blessed by God! [Applause]

八坂庚申堂掛滿不少寫滿名、日期📅、願望，七彩繽紛的許願猴。猿猴御守手腳被綁著，代表就像猴子一般總是動個不停的心靈能平靜下來、約束自我慾望。據說只要向許願猴許下兩個願望，並能捨棄其中一個的話願望就能實現。八坂庚申堂供奉「青面金剛」。庚申信仰認為猿猴是神的使者，「非禮勿視、非禮勿聽、非禮勿言」的三猿亦為青面金剛的隨從。此寺廟離清水寺不遠，吸引不少穿著和服👘的遊客去拍照。

又名摩利支尊天堂。以山豬為神獸，守護著禪居庵。寺廟有小豬御神籤、小豬御守和小豬繪馬。

But if you have been to Kyoto several times and want to explore more, you can go to the following small temples:

1️⃣ Vajra Temple

Yasaka Koshin-do is filled with colorful wishing monkeys with names, dates, and wishes written on them. The monkey amulet has its hands and feet tied, which represents the mind that is always on the move like a monkey can calm down and restrain its desires. It is said that if you make two wishes to the wishing monkey and give up one of them, the wish will come true. Yasaka Koshin Hall is dedicated to the "Blue Faced King Kong". The Gengshen faith believes that monkeys are messengers of God, and the three monkeys who "do not look at what is improper, do not listen to what is improper, and do not speak what is improper" are also followers of the Blue-faced Vajra. This temple is not far from Kiyomizu Temple and attracts many tourists wearing kimonos to take photos.

2️⃣Zenju Temple

It is also known as Marichi Paradise. The wild boar is regarded as a sacred animal, guarding the Zen temple. The temple has pig fortune sticks, pig amulets and pig ema.

因幡堂 （平等寺）以祈求健康而聞名，近年也因其可愛的動物御守而廣受日本及海外矚目。

這座寺廟的歷史可追溯至超過一千年前的平安時代，因幡（現鳥取縣）國司「橘行平」在回京都的途中，因受到夢中的啟示，在因幡鶴留津的海中尋獲了一尊藥師如來的佛像。所以回到京都後便建造了因幡堂，供奉這尊象徵病痛康復和祛除厄運佛像。

藥師如來跟釋迦如來及阿彌陀佛並稱的「日本三大如來」而廣泛尊崇。

聽聞這裡祈求身體健康和抗癌都十分靈驗，所以不少家中有飼養寵物的遊客都會帶買個御守為毛小孩的健康祈福。
而祈求的方式是🕯️點蠟燭或是點線香

#Japanese and Korean Spring Good Places

Inabado Temple (Hyouji Temple) is famous for praying for good health. In recent years, it has also attracted attention in Japan and overseas for its cute animal guardians.

The history of this temple can be traced back to the Heian period more than a thousand years ago. Inaba (now Tottori Prefecture) Imperial Secretary "Tachibana Yukihei" was inspired by a dream on his way back to Kyoto. A Buddha statue of Medicine Master Tathagata was found. So after returning to Kyoto, Inaba-do was built to enshrine this Buddha statue that symbolizes recovery from illness and the removal of bad luck.

Medicine Buddha, Shakyamuni Tathagata and Amitabha Buddha are collectively known as the "Three Great Tathagatas of Japan" and are widely revered.

I heard that praying for good health and fighting cancer here is very effective, so many tourists with pets at home will buy a guardian to pray for the health of their furry children.

Byodoin Temple, an early Japanese wooden structure, was built along the Uji River in Kyoto. It is said to be the ultimate concrete realization of the Western Paradise by the ancient Japanese. The temple was built in 1052. Its size is half of the area of ​​Uji today. It was built to draw water from the Uji River. According to the Buddhist Dharma Ending Age, the Amida Hall was built to the west of the pond, and the worship hall symbolizing the present world was built to the east of the pond. This is a representative building of the "Pure Land Garden". Its specifications have become a reference indicator for later Japanese gardens.

Located in the Uji city, Kyoto , Byodo-ji Temple is one of the famous UNESCO World Heritage site that all the tourists must visit here!! It was once a villa but then got converted into temple in the year of 1052 (near to thousand years ago). If you are having a JPY 10 coin, try to look at it and you will realise this is the exactly building that depicted in it. 

Entering to the site, there will be a fee at JPY 600 per person where you can see the exterior design of the temple by pond and enter the Byodoin museum to enjoy the precious Buddha items with over thousand years. 

If you would like to see the interior of the temple + Amitabha statue, there will be another charges applied and it depends on you whether you would like to pay for it.

The town of Uji makes a great day trip destination from Kyoto. 

There are quite a number of temples for you to visit and we decided to visit the Byodo-in Temple. 

A beautiful Buddhist temple & it has a beautiful pond and a garden and the phoenix hall have exhibits and artifacts of the temple . Magnificent architecture and not too crowded.

清水寺

歴史を感じる旧跡

It is a three-story pagoda with brilliant colors. You can see the cityscape of Kyoto not only from a distance, but also if you go close to the tower and the west gate. A little bit of trivia, the background of the illustration on the admission ticket for Kiyomizu-dera changes with the seasons. In May, it was cherry blossoms.

[Access] From JR Kyoto Station

Kyoto City Transportation Bureau (City Bus) Route 206 to Higashiyama-dori Kitaoji Bus Terminal, Route 100 to Kiyomizu-dera Gion Take the bus bound for Ginkakuji and get off at Gojozaka, then walk for about 10 minutes.

Kyoto Bus (only operates on Saturdays and holidays) Route 18, bound for Ohara, then get off at Gojozaka, then walk for about 10 minutes.

[Opening hours] Opens at 6:00am - closing time varies depending on the season.

[Admission fee]
Adults and high school students 500 yen
Elementary and junior high school students 300 yen

正門仁王門に朝07:05に着きました。すでに観光客はいますがまだ人が少なめ、あまり映り込まない清水寺の写真が撮れました。修学旅行生、団体客は8時頃から続々来られていました。スムーズに歩きたい、写真撮りたい、ゆっくり参拝したいなら朝の開門6時から7時半までには到着がおすすめです。何時に行けば良いのか悩んでる方ご参考下さい。

I arrived at the main gate, Nio-mon, at 07:05 in the morning. There were already some tourists, but it was still less crowded, allowing me to take pictures of Kiyomizu-dera without too many people in them. School trip students and group tourists started arriving in droves around 8 o'clock. If you want to walk around smoothly, take photos, or worship at your leisure, it is recommended to arrive between the opening time at 6 am and 7:30 am.
