Ninna-ji Temple, located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, is the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism, built in 888. It is also known as the Omuro Palace because Emperor Uda lived there after he became a monk. The Omuro cherry blossoms at Ninna-ji Temple, said to be the latest to bloom in Kyoto, bloom from mid- to late April, attracting many visitors who come to see the prestigious Ninna-ji Temple, where a member of the imperial family served as the chief priest until the Meiji period.
