Steamy Kusatsu Onsen 2 days and 1 night

#SeasonalPlacesInJapan I went to Kusatsu Town, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture in late February. The temperature was around -5°C, and it often dropped below freezing even during the day, so it was an extremely cold trip. As long as you take proper precautions such as wearing heat tech, boots, and gloves, you can enjoy it without any problems. Day 1 9:30AM I took a highway bus from Yaesu, Tokyo, and took two breaks at the roadside stations of Kamisato and Shibukawa before heading there. 2PM I arrived at Kusatsu Bus Terminal 30 minutes late. I bought some snacks and drinks to stay up late at night at Mokubee, a supermarket near the bus terminal, and headed to my accommodation, Kindai Pension. I made a plan of action while warming myself up in my room. 3PM I walked along Nishinokawara Street, eating my way around, and enjoyed fried rice cakes and manju around Nishinokawara Onsen. However, at this time, some shops were sold out or closed. 18:00 I enjoyed dinner at the inn, including a Joshu beef steak. The inn has a wide variety of herbs, and we were treated to a dessert and herbal tea after the meal. 20:00 I took a private hot spring bath and a toast in my room to relax. 22:00 I took a walk around the Yubatake hot springs, and the warmth, lighting, and steam from the hot springs were so fantastic that I kept taking photos. Day 2 10:00 After breakfast and checking out, I tried again to get the Matsumura Manju that I wasn't able to get on the first day, and successfully purchased one. I had some free time, so I read Close for about two hours at Mangado in Ura Kusatsu. (400 yen for two hours) 13:00 It was snowing, so I took a bath at Nishinokawara Onsen for about an hour. 14:00 I went to Kamotetsu to eat Himokawa Udon. (1500 yen for a udon and kakiage set) I sprinkled rock salt on it, enjoyed the hot tempura, and the staff were kind and very satisfied. 15:30 After a little stroll around, including buying souvenirs, I went to Kissako for tea. The meal was very filling and I was very satisfied. 17:00 I left Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal and arrived at Yaesu at 22:00. #DomesticTravel #0YenTravelFebruary2025 #HotSpring #AccommodationReview
