Meiji Shrine

Meiji Shrine is one of the most peaceful places in Tokyo, even though it’s right next to the busy Harajuku area! Walking through the giant torii gate and into the forest-like pathway instantly made me feel calm—it’s crazy how quiet and serene it is. The shrine itself is beautiful, with its traditional wooden architecture and sacred atmosphere. I wrote my wish on an ema (wooden prayer plaque) and saw other people writing prayers for love, success, and happiness. There were even some couples in traditional wedding attire taking photos—it was so romantic! One of my favorite parts was the barrel wall filled with sake barrels, donated by different brewers from all over Japan. Whether you’re into history, culture, or just need a relaxing break from the city, Meiji Shrine is the perfect spot to recharge your energy. Definitely visit in the morning for a quieter experience!
