Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or a family with kids, you can spend a whole day here without repeating anything. It’s located on the north side of Huanhu South Road in Jinning District, Kunming, right next to the south shore of Dianchi Lake. When you’re tired, you can watch the sunset—an unbeatable location. 🚗 Transportation Guide - Public Transport: It’s recommended to take the K31 special line, which passes Haigeng Dam and Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center. Get off directly at the “Colorful Yunnan · Ancient Dian City” stop, no need to walk far. You can also check transfer routes; transferring to K31 is more convenient. - Driving/Taxi: From downtown Kunming, take the Kunyu Expressway, exit at Fuyou Toll Station, head towards Chenggong, then take Zhongguang Road and Huanhu Road to reach the park; or take Guangfu Road to Huanhu East Road, enjoying Dianchi Lake scenery along the way. Parking around the park is also convenient. - Shuttle Service: The park offers free shuttle buses to and from University Town South Station. If you come by subway, just wait for the shuttle bus. 🎫 Ticket Information - Regular Tickets: Adult tickets are 238 RMB/person, university students with ID 188 RMB/person, children 1.2-1.5 meters tall and seniors over 60 years old 138 RMB/person, children under 1.2 meters free. - Night Tickets: Entry after 6:00 PM is 130 RMB/person, includes fireworks show and night views, very cost-effective. - Money-saving Tip: Don’t buy tickets on-site! Booking online in advance is much cheaper, and you avoid long queues. Just scan the code to enter. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendations - Yinleju Homestay: About a 10-minute walk to the park, some lake-view rooms face Dianchi Lake directly, with sunrise views over the lake in the morning. Rooms are Nordic style with independent children’s washstands, suitable for families or couples. Weekday prices range from 450-600 RMB/night. - Answer Homestay: A cost-effective dark horse! An 80-square-meter suite is only 188 RMB/night, with one bedroom, two living rooms, and a balcony. Two-bedroom family rooms are just over 200 RMB. Very clean and suitable for groups. - Northern Courtyard Homestay: The owner is very enthusiastic, offers childcare services, and you can cook your own meals. A 10-minute walk to the park, feels as comfortable as home. 🍜 Food Recommendations - Must-eat inside the park: The Ancient Dian King Banquet’s steam pot chicken is incredibly delicious, and the crossing-the-bridge rice noodles come with plenty of toppings; Happy Food Court offers a variety of Yunnan snacks like fried potatoes, grilled rice cakes, and papaya water, all very authentic; don’t miss the rose-flavored ice cream at Tongmeng Candy House, 15 RMB each, with a strong floral aroma. - Hidden gems outside the park: “Qiaotou First BBQ” on Sanhe Food Street has fresh dishes, buy two get one free on crayfish. After a night of fun, having BBQ here is super relaxing. ⚠️ Notes 1. Operating hours are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, extended to 11:00 PM on weekends. It’s recommended to arrive before 10 to hit popular rides first when queues are shortest. 2. Download the related app to check real-time queue times. For example, the queue for the “Primal Stone Hammer” ride is often under 15 minutes in the afternoon. Off-peak visits save time. 3. UV rays in Yunnan are very strong; be sure to bring sunscreen and a sun hat to avoid getting sunburned. 4. You can bring your own snacks and water as prices inside the park are a bit high; for rides like the rapids, it’s best to bring a raincoat. 5. Don’t miss the 8:30 PM fireworks and water curtain show. In the evening, ride the “Eye of Dianchi” Ferris wheel to see the sunset over Dianchi Lake and the park lights turning on simultaneously—absolutely stunning.
