Kunming is a really, really, really great place to take photos. Don't just use Kunming as a transit stop when you come to Yunnan. Even if you only have one day, it's worth a visit. It's also very photo-friendly, a treasure city you'll want to visit again and again! —— ⛩ Yuantong Temple ⭐️ Features: Yuantong Scenic Spot, a Pure Land on Earth. With a history of more than 1,200 years, this ancient temple is the largest existing Buddhist temple in the Dianchi Lake area and one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Yunnan. It is said to be very efficacious and worth a visit. ⏰ Opening hours: 8:00–17:00 🎫 Tickets: 6 yuan 📌 Location: 30 Yuantong Street, Wuhua District ⛩ Jinri Tower ⭐️ Features: Jinri Tower was originally built in the Yuan Dynasty and was located on the north-south central axis of the old city of Kunming. It was the south gate of Kunming and was known by old Kunming residents as the "tower close to the sun." It is also known as Lizheng Gate. It was destroyed in the great earthquake of 1833 (the thirteenth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty) and rebuilt in 1883 (the ninth year of the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty), modeled after the West Temple Pagoda (Huiguang Temple Pagoda).
