Xishan

Xishan, also known as Biji Mountain or Taihua Mountain, faces Dian Lake to the east and is a famous scenic spot in Kunming. I have longed to visit it for a long time. Starting from Gaoyao Village, I walked up the mountain along the mountain path. After six or seven kilometers of walking and stopping, I paid homage to the stupa of Monk Xuyun, visited Huating Temple which was restored by Xuyun, ascended the ancient Taihua path, visited Taihua Temple, passed by Nie Er's tomb, and reached Longmen. Longmen is the essence of Xishan, and the scenery along the way is just a prelude. From the Datiange Pavilion, overlooking the five hundred li of Dian Lake, vast and boundless, I suddenly felt my mind broaden and all the dust and toil of life dissipate. (Travel notes from 4/2)
