Sultan Abdul Samad Building in Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 Covered with the veil of Eastern and Western civilizations

The clock towers we often see include the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower in 🇨🇳🇭🇰, the Big Ben in 🇬🇧, the St. Mark's Bell Tower in 🇮🇹, etc. Each one is magnificent and incomparable. Here I would like to introduce to you another equally magnificent building, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building (Malay: Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad), which combines both Eastern and Western styles! The building is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is one of the famous local landmarks. In front of it is the Independence Square and the Selangor Royal Club, and in the back is the Jamek Mosque (Figure 3). Over the years, it has become the venue for Malaysia's National Day celebrations. The building was built between 1894 and 1897 during the British rule and was designed by Arthur Bennison Hubbeck, an architect of the British Malaya government. It has a unique historical background. As you can see from Picture 1 and Picture 2, the taller one is the 40-meter-high bell tower, which I took in the rain that night! Different from other clock towers in the world, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building not only presents a distinctive Moorish architectural style, but also has an Islamic-style "onion-shaped" copper dome. It is a great example of the integration of different civilizations and traditions, and it also fits the picture of harmonious coexistence of multiple ethnic groups and cultures in Malaysia! #Overseas Travel #Malaysia #Kuala Lumpur #Night View #The night view here is super beautiful #staycation
