Kuala Lumpur Merdeka Square & Sultan Abdul Samad Building｜The intersection of history and architecture

#MayGoodPlaces2025 #Kuala Lumpur When you come to the center of Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Merdeka is an important landmark that you cannot miss. This is where Malaysia declared its independence from British colonial rule in 1957. The Malaysian flag is flying high in the center of the square, and the atmosphere is solemn and peaceful. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which is opposite the square, is one of my favorite buildings. This red brick building with Moorish domes and arcades combines British colonial and Islamic styles, and is particularly eye-catching under the blue sky and white clouds. Built in 1897, it was originally the administrative office of the British colonial government, and now it is a symbol of history and culture. I walked slowly along the square and took many beautiful architectural silhouettes. In the evening, whether you like history, architecture or photography, this place is worth a visit. This stop not only allowed me to better understand the history of Malaysia, but also to feel the beauty of its multicultural integration.
