The convenience of accessing the Universiti station, coupled with the rarity of traffic jams compared to the town center, made it an attractive choice. However, the experience had its highs and lows. Situated near Mid Valley, the hotel offers easy access to the Universiti station, an 8-minute walk uphill. The surrounding area boasts a few dining options, and the lobby features a bakery with a commendable sugared donut. While the lobby's cleanliness and brightness were inviting, the reception staff left much to be desired. Their snobbish attitude and inability to assist with directions created a less-than-ideal start to the stay. Bright and clean, the room resembled the lobby. Despite a few stains and molds in the toilet, the room was generally well-maintained. Basic amenities such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, and shower caps were provided. The bed proved comfortable, offering a good night's rest after a day of exploration. One notable issue was a clogged shower drain, which led to a flooding incident on the second night. Although reported to the hotel, the resolution involved staff armed with towels and window wipers. While some areas remained flooded, fatigue deterred further confrontation. The hotel features a sheltered pool for enjoyment in any weather and provides access to a steam room. However, the steam room requires manual activation, resulting in a 10-15 minute wait for it to heat up. VE Hotel & Residence offers a decent stay, marred by a mix of comfort and challenges. Despite the positive aspects, the snobbish reception staff and maintenance issues make me lean toward returning to my trusted, well-known hotels for a more consistent and pleasant experience in the future. #kualalumpur
