Nature’s Rock Concert

#summervacay So I took a short trip from Yerevan and ended up at the Garni Stone Symphony in Kotayk Province, and wow, this place is unreal. It’s literally a giant canyon wall made of perfect hexagon-shaped basalt columns, and it honestly looks like something out of a fantasy movie. Like, nature really said “I’m an architect too.” The locals call it the “Symphony of Stones,” and I get why, it looks like a frozen organ or pipe instrument carved into the cliffside. You can hike down to the bottom of the gorge and just stare up at these massive, geometric formations. Super trippy and very cool. The walk down is a bit steep, but it’s totally manageable and so worth it. Bonus: there’s a stream running through the gorge, so it’s nice and cool even on a hot day. It’s not far from Garni Temple, so you can do both in one trip. Totally underrated spot, one of those “how does this even exist?” kind of places.
