Koh Muk

Koh Mook is an island in Trang Province, not far from Trang Province. It takes about 30 minutes from Kuan Tung Ku Pier in Kantang District. The long-tail boat will depart from the river mouth, pass through mangrove forests, and pass the Dragon's Spine or sand dunes that appear above the water during low tide. On the right is the island at the end of Chao Mai Beach (you can walk from Chao Mai National Park). The long-tail boat will not take long to arrive at Koh Mook, which has a long concrete bridge pier. You can easily get to the island. When I went, I contacted a tour company and had them book accommodation, restaurants, boats, and snorkeling trips for me, so everything was very convenient. When I arrived at the island, a motorcycle with a sidecar will pick me up from the pier to my accommodation. We stayed at a small, ordinary resort, probably in the hundreds. It was a concrete house with a balcony in front of the house. The rooms were air-conditioned and had a refrigerator, but no hot water. The island has a beach on the side where you can swim and a beach on the side where you can't (the pier side). Most tourists spend the day snorkeling on the various islands in this zone, such as Koh Kradan, Tham Morakot, and Koh Cheuk. In the evening, they will watch the sunset on one side of Koh Mook and eat seafood for dinner on the island. We arrived at the accommodation in the late morning. After checking in and putting our stuff in the accommodation, the car picked us up and took us to the pier to take a boat to go snorkeling. We stopped for lunch (box lunch) at Koh Kradan. Then we relaxed and played in the water, waiting for the tide to go out. Then the boat took us to Emerald Cave. The guide swam us in. In the afternoon, we came back to float the boat near the sea grass in front of Koh Muk to catch squid. We caught 5 squids in about 1 hour. Then we went back to the accommodation. If we were lucky, we would see sea turtles and dugongs. We didn't see the turtles up close, but we saw from a distance that there were bubbles and turtles swimming around there. We took a shower, got dressed, and the car picked us up to watch the sunset, walked around, took some pictures, and then took a car back to the restaurant. The food was Muslim food, no pork, only small steamed crabs and seafood. We ordered more seafood, grilled squid, in addition to what the tour arranged. The grilled squid was fresh and not expensive. After eating, we went our separate ways to rest. There are many minimarts on the island selling food and supplies. There are also alcoholic drinks. There are also roti shops and cake shops. The next day, we had breakfast at the restaurant. Food is rice soup, sticky rice, local desserts, and the tour takes you to dive on the surrounding islands for another day. The next day, a long-tail boat picks you up and takes you back to shore. Summary: Koh Muk has accommodations ranging from a few hundred baht to a few thousand baht. It is an island close to shore, easy to travel to, and easy to find food. It is suitable for a weekend getaway. You only need 2 or 3 days, which is enough. It is a great place for weekend getaways. #BeautifulIslandsInThailand#Sea#trip
