#myhiddengems During my summer vacation in Croatia, I had the pleasure of visiting Klis Fortress, and it was a standout experience! 🏰🌄 Perched on a hilltop just a short drive from Split, this fortress offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The entrance fee was 80 HRK (about $12), which is a great value for the history and scenery you get to enjoy. The fortress dates back to Roman times and has a rich history, including its role in defending against Ottoman invasions. Walking through the ancient walls and exploring the various ramparts gave me a real sense of the past. The panoramic views of Split and the Adriatic Sea from the fortress are breathtaking and well worth the climb. Nearby, you can explore the charming village of Klis itself or take a drive down to Split for more historical sites, like Diocletian's Palace.
