Yaku Relic

Phra That Yaku or Phra That Yai is located in Tambon Kamalasai. It is the largest pagoda in Fa Daet Song Yang, an ancient city from the prehistoric era. It is an octagonal pagoda made of bricks. It was built in 3 eras: the base is a square with recessed corners, with stairs in 4 directions, decorated with stucco, built in the Dvaravati era. Next up is the octagonal base, built on top of the original base, in the style of a pagoda from the Ayutthaya era. The bell-shaped body and the top were built in the Rattanakosin era. Around the pagoda, there are bas-reliefs carved from sema stones depicting the life of the Buddha. Locals believe that the pagoda contains the relics of a respected senior monk. This can be seen from the fact that when Chiang Som won the war, everything in Fa Daet Song Yang was destroyed, but Phra That Yaku was not. Therefore, it is an ancient site that is still relatively intact. #Flying to Hong Kong #Phra That Yaku
