After exiting the train station, you can walk straight into the Prince Shopping Plaza Outlet. Don't think that it's a large multi-story shopping mall like in big cities. This is a single-story outlet building, lined up in a circle with a lawn and a stream in the middle. On the other side of the outlet, if you look closely, you'll see the famous Karuizawa ski resort with a ski slope and white snow that can be seen from afar. Even though there's not as much snow as Gala Yuzawa, there's still plenty of room to play and take a cable car to enjoy the view. Women can spend time at the plaza, while men and their children can do activities at the ski slope. If you have seniors with you, you can sit and drink coffee at Starbucks or one of the many cafes nearby. This is a place worth visiting for people of all ages, and it's not far from Tokyo. You can take the Nagano Shinkansen for over an hour. Everything you need to do in one place, Karuizawa. I recommend it.
