Teresa Teng Memorial Museum

Tamachi Warehouse and Teresa Teng Memorial Museum In 1932, during the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Warehouse Corporation built several rows of brick warehouses on the east side of Tamachi Station (now Gushan Station) in Kaohsiung City, along the Kaohsiung River (Love River). These warehouses, known as the Tamachi Warehouses, were used to store petroleum and other goods. After World War II, the Taiwan Railway Administration took over the warehouses and rented them out. Over time, the warehouses became weathered and worn, with remnants of their era still visible, such as numbered signs and warnings like "No Smoking" and "Beware of Spies" at the entrances. In 2010, one of these warehouses was converted into the Teresa Teng Memorial Museum, showcasing her life story, clothing, personal items, and collectibles. Fans from across the strait, known for sayings like "Listen to Old Teng in the morning, Little Teng at night" and "Don’t love Old Teng, love Little Teng," considered this a must-visit pilgrimage site. Tour buses often crowded Hexi 1st Road. However, the museum closed in 2015.
