The second largest man-made lake in the United States

#TravelWithMe Lake Powell is the second largest artificial lake in the United States, created by the Glen Canyon Dam, which was built by damming the Colorado River. It has also been used as a location for movies and commercials, such as Planet of the Apes. The dam here was built to make up for the power and water shortages during the period of high economic growth after World War II, and it apparently supplies electricity to Arizona, Utah, and California.
