Have you ever visited one of Japan's three most famous gardens? Kairakuen in Ibaraki Prefecture, with its blossoming plum trees, Korakuen in Okayama Prefecture, with its many teahouses, and Kenrokuen in Ishikawa Prefecture, where the glory of the Kaga Domain's one million koku domain still remains. Kenrokuen, located in the center of Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is said to have started as a garden in a villa created in 1676 by Maeda Tsunanori, the fifth lord of the Maeda clan. After that, the garden was passed down through successive lords and developed, and it took 180 years for the 13th lord to create its current form. Kenrokuen is engraved with a history of about 350 years of care by human hands. The two townhouses in the photo are located side by side, just a short walk from Kenrokuen.
