Eleven-headed statue of Kannon

Hasedera (長谷寺) is a temple of the Jodo sect, famous for its eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. It is 9.18 meter tall, and is regarded as one of the largest wooden sculptures in Japan and can be viewed in the temple's main building, the Kannon-do Hall. The fall foliage is beautiful here. And during the autumn season, the temple has a special light-up event in the evening. This is the only temple in Kamakura that holds a special light-up event. This temple is located five minute walk from Hase Station, the third station from Kamakura along the Enoden railway line. In 2024, I want to visit Nara. #2024wish
