Sirindhorn Museum

Sirindhorn Museum is located in Sahasakhan District, Kalasin Province. It was originally the Phu Kum Khao Dinosaur Research Center. In 1994, the skeleton of a plant-eating dinosaur, Phuwiangosaurus Sirindhornae, was discovered in the area of ​​the current excavation pit by Phra Khru Wichien Sahasakhun, the abbot of Wat Sakkawan. Since the end of 1994, the dinosaur expedition team from the Department of Mineral Resources has begun systematic excavations and found that Phu Kum Khao is the site where the most complete plant-eating dinosaur skeletons have been found in Thailand. Dinosaur skeletons of various sizes have been found, with more than 7 plant-eating dinosaurs and more than 700 pieces of bones. Importantly, pieces of skulls, teeth, and jaws, as well as skeletons that are lined up together, almost completely intact, have been found. All of the skeletons are in the rock layer that is located on the shoulder of Phu Kum Khao, which is shaped like a haystack and is approximately 240 meters high.
