Liyuan: A gorgeous overseas Chinese villa garden in Kaiping, Guangdong 🌿

🏯 Liyuan is located in Kaiping, Guangdong. It is a gorgeous villa garden that combines Chinese and Western architectural styles. This garden witnessed the struggle and aesthetic pursuit of overseas Chinese in the early 20th century. Construction began in 1926 by local overseas Chinese businessman Xie Weiqun and took 10 years to complete. Liyuan is known as one of the classic representatives of Kaiping Diaolou and villages for its unique architectural style and exquisite garden design. It is also one of the most distinctive overseas Chinese gardens in Guangdong. When I walked into Liyuan, it was as if I had traveled back to an ancient and exotic era.
