Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru: A Journey of Expectations and Disappointments

It was my first time staying at Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru, and I was full of expectations. The hotel is located on Jalan Sungai Chat in Johor Bahru, which is a great location. It's close to the Woodlands Checkpoint and some famous restaurants, like drive-thru KFC and McDonald's. However, the journey from the airport to the hotel was a bit long, but still acceptable. 🚙🍔 My experience during this stay was a mix of joy and worry. The front desk staff were friendly, and the check-in process was quick. I stayed in a sea view room, which was spacious and bright, with a beautiful view. It was so relaxing to enjoy the sea view while resting. However, some facilities were a bit outdated. For example, the bed was too hard, making it difficult to sleep. Fortunately, the pillows were comfortable, which made up for it a bit. 🚪🏞️ The room's decor was a bit awkward, with some areas not renovated well. For example, the bathroom door and wardrobe had some minor flaws. The bathtub was nice for a soak, but the rubber plug had some issues, so the bath salts were wasted. The air conditioning was powerful, which was a relief in the hot weather. ❄️🛀 The hotel also has a public parking lot, but the parking spaces are a bit far, especially when the hotel is full. You might have to walk quite a distance to find a spot. But that's okay, as we spent most of our time outside, so it was manageable. As for the pool, we only stayed one night and didn't have a chance to try it, but it looked spacious. However, breakfast was decent, with local delicacies and Western options. The espresso from the coffee machine was a highlight. Nevertheless, the hotel's shuttle and car service made it a bit more convenient. The most unsatisfactory part was that the front desk asked us to check out and then check in again, even though we were staying for several nights. It was a bit strange. Some room facilities could be improved, but it's clear the hotel is gradually renovating. I hope they keep up the good work. 🚕🚦 In summary, my experience at Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru was a mixed bag, with both joys and sorrows. I hope to see more improvements next time.
