Jidi Temple

In ancient times, the Ji River was known as one of the 'Four Rivers' along with the Yangtze, Yellow, and Huai Rivers because it uniquely flowed into the sea. The source of the Ji River nourished the capital of China's first slave dynasty, the Xia Dynasty. The unique flow of the Ji River, which runs through the Yellow River and remains clear, and its tortuous path to the sea, has forged the noble character of the Chinese nation, which is pure, unyielding, and heroic. The Jidi Temple, built during the Sui Dynasty, is one of the largest existing ancient architectural complexes in Henan, built by the court to worship the Ji River God, one of the 'Four River' Gods.
