I took a trip to Jinyun and realized that the weather in May is like opening a blind box 🌥️! The sun is scorching hot during the day 🌞, with strong UV rays; in the afternoon, there may be a sudden heavy rain 🌧️. If you don't bring an umbrella for both sunny and rainy days and a sunscreen jacket, you will be in a mess in minutes! Moreover, some scenic mountain roads are winding, and if the transportation is not well planned, it is easy to waste time 😣! Fortunately, I did enough research in advance. Keep this guide 👇! Transportation to Jinyun 🚇 🚄 High-speed train: It is super convenient to go directly to Jinyun West Station! After exiting the station, take a taxi 🚕 for about 20 minutes to get to the Xiandu Scenic Area; or take a bus 🚌 (follow the "Jinyun Travel" APP to check the route), which saves money and allows you to enjoy the scenery~ The nearby Yongkang South Station can also be used for transfer, but it is a bit far from the core scenic area! 🚗 Self-driving: Just follow the navigation! However, the scenic parking lot turns into a "parking space grabbing battle" 🅿️ during holidays. It is recommended to arrive before 8am, otherwise it will be super frustrating to circle around looking for a parking space! Accommodation reference 🏠 • Around Xiandu Scenic Area: Strongly recommend Jin Yun Li She and Yue Jing Zhuang 🌳! Open the window and you can see Dinghu Peak. Wake up to the sound of birds in the morning and watch the stars at night ✨. The disadvantage is that the price is high during the peak season, so you have to book a week in advance! • Jinyun County: If you want to go shopping, eating, and drinking, choose here! Jinjiang International and other chain hotels are cost-effective. There is a snack street downstairs, so you can rush out to buy sesame cakes in the middle of the night~ Popular attractions 🎈 ⛰️ Xiandu Scenic Area: • Dinghu Peak: The "No. 1 Peak in the World" soars into the sky, like a giant stone bamboo shoot rising from the ground! Taking photos in Hanfu will directly make you a goddess 📸 • Zhutan Mountain: In the morning mist season, it is as beautiful as a Chinese ink painting 🌫️! Rush to squat for the "Old Farmer Leading the Cow" performance before 7 o'clock, the fairy-like atmosphere is full~ • Yandang Bookstore: A popular place to check in online! Natural cave + beautiful light and shadow, drink a cup of coffee and read a book, the literary value is bursting ☕ 🌺 Dayang Mountain: May is the world of azaleas! The monkey-head azaleas and lantern azaleas all over the mountains bloom into a sea of flowers 🌸. It is recommended to hike to Dayang Mountain Tip, overlooking the continuous green mountains, and taking photos at will are all wallpapers! 🏯 Heyang Ancient Residences: The Ming and Qing architectural complex hides the password of time! The horse head walls and ancient ancestral halls are very charming. If you are tired from shopping, you can also drink a cup of green tea 🍵 in the old teahouse and listen to the boss chatting and telling stories~ Popular food 🍜 🥧 Jinyun sesame cake: Carbon water lovers are ecstatic! Dried vegetables + streaky pork are freshly baked. Take a bite and it’s crispy and oily. It is recommended to go to the "Old Sesame Cake" shop. It costs CNY 5 a piece and it’s so fragrant that you stomp your feet! 🍜 Tu Shuang Noodles: Noodles that are so thin that they can be threaded through a needle! Cooked in clear soup with poached eggs, it’s so delicious that your eyebrows fall off; stir-fried with shredded pork and vegetables, it’s super satisfying to slurp a big bowl~ 🥣 Qiao Rou Geng: Tender and smooth to slurp! Pork is pounded into thin slices and thickened, it’s sour and spicy and appetizing. It’s great to have a brown sugar mochi as afternoon tea! ⚠️Tips to avoid pitfalls: 1️⃣ Be sure to bring an umbrella for both sunny and rainy days + sunscreen + mosquito repellent, don't let the weather/mosquitoes mess with me! 2️⃣ The "Old Farmer Leading the Cow" performance in Xiandu is free on holidays, and you need to make a phone reservation and pay for it at ordinary times 📞 3️⃣ Wear non-slip shoes for hiking in Dayang Mountain, don't wear white shoes! It's super difficult to wash off the dirt 😭 4️⃣ Look for "charcoal-fired freshly baked" sesame cake stalls on the street, the pre-made cakes taste much worse!
